**The Emperor of Contradictions: Revisiting the Aurangzeb I Never Knew**


We all know the headline: Aurangzeb Alamgir, the last great Mughal, was a Hindu-hating fanatic. It’s a story etched into our collective memory. But history, like a well-worn tapestry, reveals different patterns when you look closer.


I started researching with that simple headline in mind. I ended up discovering a man of bewildering contradictions.
