The Usmani Sultanate was established in the hands of Sultan Osman in 1299. Later in 1517, the Sultan defeated Sultan Mamluk Sultan Tuman Bay in the Battle of Raidania. He also conquered Makkah Madinah.

In Sofia, he took the title of Caliph from the Caliph. He was the first Ottoman Sultan who took the title of Caliph. Many Sunni Muslims and Shiites did not accept him as the Caliph at that time.

Because they thought the Caliph would only be from the Quraish. The title of Sultan Selim was the same in the Ottoman Sultanate. At that time the sons of Makkah went to Sultan Selim and the demands of Modina did handedover. Then Sultan Selim took the title of Harmine-Sharifine instead of Selim Khalifa. Shortly afterwards the Sultan captured the Abbasid Khalifa.

When Sultan Selima died in 1520, his son Sultan Sulaiman came to power. He allocated 60 dirham allowance daily for kholifah.Abbasi Khalifa died in 1538 or 1543.

The Usmani sultans did not pretend to be the Caliph of themselves. They enjoyed the title of Sultan. At that time, the Sultan 3rd Ahmad declared himself as the Caliph. It was not recognized that.

The ruler of the Russian was awarded the Sultan of the Muslim Caliph. The Ottoman Sultan became politically known and recognized as a Caliph beyond the Sultanate.

It is first that the Ottoman Sultan publicly declared himself the Sultan. Finally, when the Sultan 2nd Abdul Hamid Pan Islamism propagated the doctrine, became widely popular as the Caliph.

But the two companies of the Muslims' respect and love of the Muslims fell in the hands of Kamal Ataturk. And the caliphate fell on March 3, 1924!
