The Smartest Investment You Can Make This Year: Learn These Skills for Higher-Paying Remote Jobs

One of the biggest myths about working from home is that you either have the right skills—or you don't.

The truth is much simpler.

Many people miss out on excellent remote job opportunities not because they're unqualified, but because they're missing one or two skills that could be learned in a few weeks.

Think about it.

Have you ever found a remote job that looked perfect, only to discover the requirements included experience with Excel, WordPress, project management, digital marketing, data analysis, content writing, or other technical skills you weren't completely confident about?

Most people immediately move on to another job listing.

But what if those missing skills could be learned affordably—or even for free?

In today's digital world, learning new skills has never been more accessible. The internet has made it possible for anyone, regardless of age, education level, or location, to gain valuable knowledge that employers actively seek.

And often, those new skills can become the difference between earning a modest income and landing a significantly higher-paying remote position.

Why Learning New Skills Matters More Than Ever?

The remote job market is becoming increasingly competitive.

Employers are no longer just looking for people who can complete tasks. They're searching for individuals who can solve problems, use modern software, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing technology.

The good news?

You don't need another university degree.

You simply need to become slightly better today than you were yesterday.

Every new skill you learn increases your value in the marketplace.

Every certification adds credibility.

Every completed course gives you confidence to apply for opportunities you may have previously ignored.

The question isn't whether learning new skills is worth it.

The Fall of an Untouchable: How Benazir Ahmed's Legacy Became a Symbol of Power Without Accountability

History is full of ironies.

Benazir: The name that has become the meaning of the reverse history and security question of neo-Muslims in Bangladesh?

There is a word in Arabic, Benazir. Meaning is unprecedented, incomparable, incomparable. The word is usually used for someone great, someone ahead of his time, whose achievements are remembered for ages. But history sometimes plays strange ironies. Some people reverse the meaning of their name Prove the truth.

Former Inspector General of Police of Bangladesh Benazir Ahmed is one of those rare people who has become truly unprecedented in cruelty, brutality, corruption, abuse of power and trampling on the rights of innocent people.

Never in the long history of this country has there been a police chief who has been so deeply involved in so many crimes at the same time.

There are many people in the world who live well for lack of opportunities, and Get bad if you get the chance. Power is like a test. A man who is righteous from within, becomes more enlightened when he gets power. And those who have the seeds of greed and pride hidden in them, when they get power, those seeds become sweet and the people around them wither and die in its shadow. Looking at Benazir Ahmed's life from this perspective, many things become clear.

He was born in Tungipara, Gopalganj, on the first day of October 1963. thisThe name Tungipara has been mentioned many times in the political history of Bangladesh. This is the same soil where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born.

Another birth took place on that ground, which birth would later become a nightmare in the lives of the common people of this country, perhaps no one thought that day. Born in a noble Muslim family, the boy grew up in Banedi manners.

Studied English in Dhaka University, Shakespeare and Wordsworth Swallowed poetic language. The course of events of the next three decades has given the answer to the question of how much of the humanity, the longing for justice, which is deep in English literature, he retained in himself.

Joined Police in 1988 after clearing BCS exam. That's the beginning. Since then, the process of promotion began, it seems that an invisible hand of power began to lift him up step by step.

Dhaka Metropolitan PoliceCommissioner, Director General of RAB, and finally the country's highest police post, the IGP. Behind each post was the reward of political loyalty and unconditional loyalty to the ruling elite.

In this long journey, he not only got a position, but got unlimited power, and he used that power in a way that the common people of this country will never forget.

To talk about that night in Shapla Chatwar, we have to go back a little. 2013 Bangladesh was a hot Bangladesh. On the one hand, the trial of the war crimes tribunal, on the other hand, the intense anger among the ordinary religious people about the anti-Islamic writings of the bloggers.

Hefazat Islam represented that anger and entered the field. Millions of people from all over the country started coming to Dhaka. Madrasah students, mosque imams, ordinary farmers, working people, all came with one demand, to protect the honor of their religion.have to do They were innocent, unarmed and peaceful.

When thousands of people gathered at Shapla Chattar in Motijheel on the evening of May 5, no one thought that this night could be the last night of their lives. When the night fell, the electricity first went out. Shapla Chattar and the surrounding areas were plunged into darkness.

It began under the cover of darkness which Bangladesh has not seen since March 25, 1971. Lathicharge, tearshells, rubber bulletsAnd in many other ways the whole burden of state power was brought down upon the sleeping, helpless people.

As the sun rose in the morning, the surroundings of Shapla Square were silent. There was nothing but some bloodstains, torn clothes, shoes and memories of the lost people.

The exact number of people who died that night is still unknown. Where did the bodies of the 58 people who were mentioned in the media go, how were they moved, where?Given the soil, the answer to that question has not yet been found.

The families who sent their son away saying he would return in the morning, are still waiting today. No number, no statistic can bear that burden of waiting.

Benazir Ahmed was the Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police that night. According to the investigators, he was not only in charge but also the active director of this operation.

Years have passed, but the responsibility of that night He did not leave. He is now accused of crimes against humanity in the International Criminal Tribunal.

Benazir Ahmed's name is also written in the black pages of history along with the names of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir.

Another terrible chapter was added to his life during his tenure as Director General of RAB. The RAB force was created to fight crime, terroristst deal with.

But gradually this force became a tool to suppress political opponents. People are slowly learning about the secret detention center known as Ayanaghar, where people were kept in the dark day after day.

People imprisoned in small cells surrounded by mirrors could not see anything but their own faces. The mental torture was described by those who returned alive, and those who Only their families know that they did not return.

Benazir Ahmed is an accused in another case in the International Criminal Tribunal, which has raised allegations of picking up people of opposing views in the TFI cell. He is in the list of 17 accused.

The force is responsible for the disappearance of many people who left their homes in the early hours of the morning and never returned, whose families stood at the door and stared at the road for years.Investigators have confirmed that there is.

It does not end here. Some events also happened during his time which are still debated. After Benazir Ahmed's arrest, a man named Nehar Halder admitted on Facebook that with the help of Benazir Ahmed, he had managed to bring back more than two hundred girls after religious conversion.

This admission raises a serious question. Those who respond to the call of their own conscience voluntarily Islam accepted, were they forcibly taken back? Does an adult not have the right to choose his religion? If the maximum police power of the state is used in this work, then it falls under the definition of human rights?

When people in power go beyond the law, many petty crimes become normal for them. Doctor of Business from Dhaka University in 2019,Benazir Ahmed took a degree in administration. The word doctor is added before the name.

But later investigation revealed that he did not qualify for the course which required minimum fifty percent marks for admission. By breaking the rules, relaxing the conditions, influencing the university, he was admitted and awarded the degree.

After the fall of power, the university authorities suspended the degree. To gain knowledge,When Peethathan bows to the pressure of power, it is not only a corruption of a man but also a document of moral decay of an institution.

The passport incident is even more surprising. In 2016, when he was the Director General of RAB, he disguised his government identity and went to get a passport as a normal private employee.

A letter went from RAB headquarters to the passport office objecting and within twenty-four hours he went to the house and took photographs and fingerprints. He came with a passport. Those who have gone through the experience know how long a common citizen has to stand in line, how much running to get a passport.

And one of the most powerful law enforcers of the country broke the law and made passports himself and got them with such speed that a normal citizen could not even imagine.

In 2021, the United States charged him with human rights violations Banned. This is a historic event, as there has never been a US sanction against a police chief in Bangladesh.

But he is still adamant, because behind the umbrella of the government. He went to New York to attend the UN conference in 2022, but was not allowed to set foot anywhere else on US soil, due to sanctions.

It was the first sign of his impending downfall, though he did not realize it or realize it at the timedidn't care

When the Anti-Corruption Commission started taking stock of his wealth, what came out shocked the nation. Four cases were registered against Benazir Ahmed, his wife Zeeshan Mirza and two daughters Farheen and Tahseen.

A total of 74 crore illegal assets have been identified. 9 crores in his own name, 31 crores in the name of wife and another crores in the name of daughters. Four luxury flats, thirty-three banks in Gulshan Accounts and shares of nineteen institutions.

But what stands out more than the numbers, is the list of clothes found in a flat:

622 Ladies Tops,

496 salwar kameez,

494 sarees,

355 Ladies Pants,

347 Veils,

250 sets of threepieces,

722 Men's Tshirts,

266 pants,

224 Punjabi,

88 pairs of sandals,

34 sunglasses,

75 vanity bags,

65 blouses,

58 Night Dresses

16 lehengas.

and various Brand perfume. This is just a flat calculation.

In a country where crores of people are not guaranteed two meals a day, this collection of clothes by the family of a government official is not only an indication of greed, it is a document of moral bankruptcy.

A poor man's reservoir was forcibly occupied in Rupganj of Narayanganj. The reservoir was filled with sand. Then his daughter bought 24 khata land at a nominal price Duplex palace.

Where did that poor man go, who heard his cry, where was his judgment? And in the vast area of Gopalganj and Madaripur, the minority Hindu families were intimidated and pressured to buy land and build Savanna Eco Resort and Natural Park on 600 bigha. The land that was once a common man's house is now a luxury park.

On the cry of the common people and the pain of being destitute The signage of the luxury resort that was standing was changed in June 2024 as per the court order. But the people who were evicted, have they regained everything they lost?

In the last days of power, the smart people sensed that the air was changing. When the heat of the ACC investigation approached in May 2024, Benazir Ahmed did not delay. After withdrawing 11 crore 34 lakh from the bank, the family left the country in the dark of night.

That the man who was once the supreme police chief of this country, whose one order would have made thousands of policemen move, that man is Ferrari from his own country. Exactly three months later on 5 August 2024, that mighty government fell.

As soon as the umbrella of power was removed from his head, he became a Ferrari suspect. An arrest warrant was issued from the court. Interpol has issued a red notice.

12 June 2026. In the glittering lights of Dubai, the city of luxury,He was arrested by the UAE police with the help of Interpol. The Home Minister of Bangladesh said that he will be brought back to the country very soon. When that return happens after a long hiatus, there won't be a red carpet for it.

There will be a mountain of cases of crimes against humanity, corruption, land grabbing, money laundering and passport fraud. Never before in the history of Bangladesh have so many complaints against a police chiefdidn't come

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, "Whoever uses the power given by Allah for his own benefit and oppresses the weak people, he will have to bear the burden of that oppression on the Day of Resurrection." The darkness of oppression dawns one day. That dawn sometimes comes early, sometimes late. But it comes.

When a police chief becomes a law eater instead of a law keeper, thenThe people's confidence in the entire state system has gone down. The man who trusts the police and goes to the police station, when he sees that the police chief is a criminal, where will he go? Who will seek justice? The pain of not being able to answer this question has been borne by the common people of Bangladesh for years.

The people who came to pray at Shapla Square and never returned home, whose families are still crying, the neo-Muslim young man or woman for his faith.Perhaps taken away by force, the poor man whose pond has filled up, the minority family who has given up land in fear, their every tear demands justice from a civilized state.

If that judgment is not in this world, then Allah's court is there. No political umbrella is useful in that court, no RAB force is useful, no IGP can protect the post.

Benazir means Unprecedented. He has become truly unprecedented. But not in the way he wanted. Not the way history remembers its powerful. History will remember him among the tears of those whose tears were not witnessed, but whose tears did not cease.

๐Ÿ“ฟ5 Qur'anic Duas for Life's Biggest Challenges — Proven by the Stories of the Prophets

When Life Says "Impossible," Remember These 5 Prophets,

"Impossible."

It's a word we use far too often.

Impossible to find a job.

Impossible to escape debt.

Impossible to heal.

Impossible to save a marriage.

Impossible to have a child.

Impossible to overcome this hardship.

But the Qur'an teaches a different reality.

Because the word "impossible" does not exist in Allah's dictionary. He says "Kun" — and it's done.

Again & again, Allah showed humanity that what appears impossible to people is effortless for Him.

Five Prophets faced situations where every worldly door seemed closed. Logic said there was no solution. Circumstances offered no hope.

Yet they turned to Allah.

And Allah responded.

The Qur'an repeatedly uses a remarkable phrase:

َูุงุณْุชَุฌَุจْู†َุง ู„َู‡ُ "So We responded to him."

These are not merely stories from history. They are timeless lessons for every believer facing an "impossible" situation today.

Let us explore five extraordinary duas that transformed impossibility into divine possibility.

---

•Prophet Zakariyya (AS): When Having a Child Seemed Impossible

Zakaria (as) is old. hair is white Bones are weak. Wife is barren.

A doctor would have said — "Impossible." science Said — "Impossible." People used to say — "Give it up at this age."

But he said to Allah -

Pronunciation: Rabbi La Tazarni Fardan wa Anta Khairul Warisin.

"O my Lord, do not leave me alone. And You are the best of inheritors."

(Surah Ambiya: 89)

And the language of his prayer in Sura Maryam is even more profound — "My bones are weak, my head is white — but I have never failed in supplicating You, O Lord." (Surah Maryam: 4)

What did God do? "Fastajabna Lahu wa Wahabna Lahu Yahya" — II responded and donated Yahya. in old age In the womb of a barren woman.

What's the Lesson?

Impossible as human — possible as God. Something you've wanted for years — children, a job, wellness — isn't happening. People are saying "Give it up." Don't stop praying. Zakaria (as) did not leave.

--

•Prophet Musa (AS): When You Have Absolutely Nothing Left

Musa (a.s.) escaped from Egypt and came to Midian. Behind Pharaoh the army Unknown country ahead. no house no job no money no food no family alone.

As a man — it is "impossible" for this man to stand up again.

But he sat under the shade of a tree and said —

Pronunciation: Rabbi inni lima anjalta ilaiya min khairin fakir.

"O my Lord, whatever goodness You send down upon me — I look forward to it."

(Surah Qasas: 24)

He didn't want anything specific. Didn't say "give me a job" or "give me a marriage." Said — "Any Khair or best".

What did God give? All together — marriage, home, job, family, security. More than asking.

What's the Lesson?

Don't you have anything now? Lost all? zero Having to start over? Musa (a.s.) didn't have anything either. But asked God — God gave more than asked.

---

•Prophet Ibrahim (AS): When You're Surrounded by Fire

Ibrahim (as) alone. against the whole nation. A huge fire was lit. Too big to approach — thrown into the fire with a stone thrower.

As a human being — sure to burn if caught in a fire. to survive"Impossible."

Gabriel (A.S.) came and said — "Need any help?"

Ibrahim (a.s.) said — "Not to you. To Allah."

Allah said -

Pronunciation: Kulna ya Naru Kuni Bardan Wa Salaman Ala Ibrahim.

"I said — O fire, become cool and peaceful for Abraham."

(Surah Ambiya: 69)

The fire did not burn. Allah changed the nature of fire.

What's the Lesson?

If Allah wills, the fire also cools down. Are you on any "fire" right now?

Debt on fire?

Fire of the world?

Office fire?

Social pressure fires?

Allah can cool that fire too.

---

•Prophet Yunus (AS): When There Seems to Be No Way Out

Yunus (AS) in the belly of the fish. deep in the sea dark night The water is dark. The darkness of the belly of the fish. Three levels of darkness.

No one knows where he is. No one to help. No phone, no doctor, no lawyer, no way.

As for humans — getting out of a fish's belly alive is "impossible."

From there he called —

Pronunciation: La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz zalimeen.

"There is no god but You. Holy are You. Verily I was among the wrongdoers."

(Surah Ambiya: 87)

Allah says — "fastajabna lahu wa najzainahu minal gamma" — I responded and freed from anxiety. Then he said — "Wa Qazalika Nunzil Mu'minin" — This is how I deliver the believers.

The Prophet ๏ทบ said — “Dua of wool and salt —If any Muslim makes this supplication in any matter, Allah will answer his call.” (Jamee Tirmidhi: 3505)

What's the Lesson?

Are you stuck around? Not seeing a way? Seems impossible to get out? Yunus (as) was also stuck in the belly of a fish. Allah has taken out. Get you out too.

---

•Prophet Ayyub (AS): When Relief Takes Years

Ayyub (as) was ill for 18 years. Diseases in the body that people are close towould not come The wealth is gone. The child is gone. Everyone left. Only his wife was with him.

18 years. 6,570 days. Pain every day. Every night is hard.

As for humans — recovery after 18 years is "impossible."

But he never once complained. just said

 —

Pronunciation: Anni Massaniad Durru wa Anta Arhamur Rahimin.

"I am afflicted, and Thou art the Most Merciful."

(Surah Ambiya: 83)

Allah says — "fastajabna lahu" — I responded. I removed the disease. I returned the family. I doubled it.

What's the Lesson?

Taking more time? Been trying for years? Feel like "no more"? Ayyub (as) waited for 18 years. Then Allah gave — two fold by doing Allah's time is not your time. He will give at the right time.

Surah Al-Kahf’s Hidden Blueprint for Life: 4 Powerful Duas for Every Situation

Every Friday, countless Muslims around the world recite Surah Al-Kahf seeking its blessings, light, and protection.

But there is a beautiful secret hidden within this remarkable Surah that many of us never pause to notice.

Behind its four famous stories lie four powerful supplications—each connected to a different test of life, and each carrying a lesson that can guide us through our own struggles.

Four stories.

Four challenges.

Four heartfelt prayers.

And four divine solutions for the problems we face every day.

Many of us recite Surah Al-Kahf regularly, yet often focus only on the events while overlooking the powerful duas embedded within them.

We read the stories, admire the lessons, but rarely stop to reflect on the prayers that transformed the lives of those who made them.

What if these very supplications could help us navigate our own decisions, protect our blessings, strengthen our patience, and keep us humble in success?

In this post, we will uncover these four remarkable duas hidden within Surah Al-Kahf and learn when to recite each one during the different seasons of life.

Surah Al-Kahf is a Makkan Surah consisting of 110 verses and holds a special place in the hearts of believers.

The Prophet ๏ทบ said:

"Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday will have a light shining for him between this Friday and the next."

He also taught that memorizing and reciting its opening verses serves as protection from the trials of the Dajjal. (Sahih Muslim 809)

Yet the true beauty of Surah Al-Kahf is not found merely in its recitation.

Its deeper wisdom is discovered when we understand its messages, reflect upon its supplications, and bring those prayers into our daily lives.

Because Surah Al-Kahf was never meant to be just a weekly recitation.

It was meant to be a guide for life's most important moments.

Let's explore these four extraordinary duas and discover when to use them in our lives.

---

•๐ŸŒฟThe Dua of the People of the Cave: When You Need Guidance in a Difficult Decision

A group of young people. Shirk, injustice, pressure all around. Two ways - either lose faith by mixing with society, or accept hardships and cling to faith.

They chose the second path. He left the city. He took shelter in the cave.

But before entering the cave they made a prayer —

Pronunciation: Rabbana Atina Milladunka rahmatan wa hayyilana min amrina rashada.

"O our Lord, grant us mercy from You and guide our actions to the right path."
(Surah Kahf: 10)

This dua asks for two things — mercy and rashad (right guidance).

The word "Rashad" is very important — it means right path, right decision, right direction.

What did God do? He kept them asleep for many years. After waking up, the world has changed. they are Safe with faith.

๐Ÿ“ŒWhen Should You Recite This Dua?
Before making a major life decision

Considering marriage

Starting or leaving a job

Beginning a business

Moving to a new country

Choosing between difficult options

Whenever you feel lost and ask yourself, "Which path is right for me?" turn to this powerful dua.

---

๐ŸŒธThe Dua That Protects Your Blessings: When Allah Gives You Success

Two people, one Wealthy — large gardens, crops, wealth. Another is poor — but a believer.

The rich man boasted — "These things will never end. I am the greatest."

The poor fellow warned him — it is a gift from God. don't be proud Rather say—

ู…َุง ุดَุงุกَ ุงู„ู„َّู‡ُ ู„َุง ู‚ُูˆَّุฉَ ุฅِู„َّุง ุจِุงู„ู„َّู‡ِ

Pronunciation: Masha Allahu La Quwata Illa Billah.

"Allah has done what He willed. There is no power but Allah."
(Surah Kahf: 39)

The rich man didn't listen. Then? all one daythe end Garden destroyed. All dried up. Waving his hands, he said — "Oh, that I had not associated anyone with my Lord!"

But then what's the point?

๐Ÿ“ŒWhen Should You Say This?
Whenever Allah blesses you with:

A new job

A successful business

A home

A vehicle

A child

Academic success

Financial growth

Say:
"Masha Allah, La Quwwata Illa Billah."

Not merely as a phrase—but as a reminder that every blessing belongs to Allah and can only be preserved through gratitude.

---

๐ŸŒŠThe Words of Prophet Musa (AS): When Beginning a Difficult Journey

Musa (a.s.) wanted to go on a journey with Khizr (a.s.). Khizir (a.s.) said — "You cannot be patient with me."

Musa (a.s.) said —

Pronunciation: Sataziduni Insha Allahu Sabiran Wala Asi Laka Amra.

"You will find me patient inshallah and I will not disobey any of your orders."
(Surah Kahf: 69)

Note — Musa (as) did not say "I will be patient." He said, "Insha'Allah, I will be patient." Did not trust in himself - trusted in Allah.

But what happened on the trip? Musa (a.s.) could not be patient. He asked three times. Because outwardly the events seemed unfair.

At the end Khizir (a.s.) explained — andThen it was understood that behind what looked bad from the outside, there was mercy and wisdom.

๐Ÿ“ŒWhen Should You Recite This?
Before:

Starting a new job

Launching a business

Pursuing higher education

Migrating to a new place

Entering a challenging chapter of life

And whenever life doesn't make sense,
remember:

Allah sees the complete picture while we only see a single page.

And when something happens in life that you don't understand — a job gone, a relationship broken, an opportunity missed — remember Khizr's (a.s.) explanation. God'sThe plan is bigger than what you see.

---

๐Ÿ‘‘The Words of Dhul-Qarnayn: When You Achieve Great Success

Zulcarnine. Allah gave him power, territory, ability, knowledge. He built a great wall to save people from the temptation of Yajuz-Majuj.

Such a big job. Such a great achievement. Such a big success.

But what did he say at the end?

ู‚َุงู„َ ู‡َู€ٰุฐَุง ุฑَุญْู…َุฉٌ ู…ِّู† ุฑَّุจِّูŠ

Pronunciation: Kala haza rahmatum mirthe rabbi

"He said — This is the mercy of my Lord."
(Surah Kahf: 98)

He did not claim credit for himself. Didn't say "I did." He said — "The mercy of my Lord."

๐Ÿ“ŒWhen Should You Say This?

After:
Passing an exam

Completing a project

Achieving a goal

Building a successful business

Purchasing a home

Reaching an important milestone

Say:
"Hฤdhฤ Rahmatun Min Rabbฤซ"

"This is a mercy from my Lord."

Because true success is not what we achieve.

True success is recognizing Who made it possible.

From Home Office to Ocean Dreams: 4 Remote Cruise Jobs You Can Apply for Today

Have you ever imagined earning an income from home while helping people plan the cruise vacation of their dreams?

If that sounds appealing, you're in the right place. Several well-known travel companies regularly hire remote workers to assist customers with booking cruises, answering questions, and helping travelers create unforgettable experiences.

Before you dive in, it's important to know that most of these positions involve a significant amount of phone communication. If you enjoy talking with people and providing excellent customer service, this could be a great fit. However, those looking for non-phone work may want to explore other remote opportunities.

The companies featured below were actively hiring at the time this article was written. If a position is no longer available when you check, don't be discouraged. Remote travel jobs open and close frequently, so it's always worth bookmarking company career pages and checking back regularly.

Many cruise-booking roles prefer candidates with previous experience in the cruise industry, customer service, sales, or travel-related work. Even if you haven't worked directly with cruises before, strong communication skills and experience helping customers over the phone can make you a competitive applicant.

One of the most attractive benefits of working in this field is the opportunity to enjoy employee travel discounts. Many companies offer reduced rates on cruises and vacation packages, allowing employees to explore destinations they may have only dreamed about visiting.

If you're passionate about travel, enjoy connecting with people, and would love the flexibility of working from home, these opportunities may be worth exploring.

Let's take a look at four companies that regularly hire remote workers to help travelers book unforgettable cruise adventures.

•Cruise.com
Hires home-based cruise sales agents in most states.

Two years of recent cruise sales work experience is listed as being required, and some openings (but not all) will require that you're bilingual (English/Spanish).

Pay is base plus commission, and they want you to work in eight hour shifts. Training lasts four weeks, and it may be completed online. As of the date of this blog post, it does appear they are recruiting for these positions.

•Holland America
Holland America is currently looking for personal cruise consultants in the US to work at home. This job involves making outbound calls and sending emails to warm leads — guests who have already expressed interest in booking a cruise.

The pay structure is a base rate of $15 hourly plus uncapped commission incentives. First-year consultants typically average around $50,000, and top performers reach $80,000 or more.

This is a full-time role. Benefits are offered with no waiting period, and Holland America will supply your equipment. Training is paid and lasts approximately 8 weeks prior to starting work.

It is worth knowing that recent Glassdoor reviewers note that sales goal expectations have become increasingly demanding and the pay structure has changed over time, so go in with clear eyes on that.

•Windstar Cruises
Windstar Cruises is sometimes hiring work at home customer service representatives to service Travel Advisors and Guests via inbound and outbound calls, email, chat, and other sources as assigned. This work involves assisting in reservations as well.

When posted, this position is only open to people living in the following US states: AR, AZ, CO, FL, LA, TX, and WA.

This is a full-time role. Cruise or tour operations and reservations experience is preferred but not required.

The rate of pay is not listed, but the job listing says it's an hourly rate plus incentives.

This position is not currently open, but you can go here to check to see when it comes back.

•World Travel Holdings
This company has very regular openings for home-based workers to sell luxury cruise and resort vacation packages for 40 major travel brands. They hire in all US states except for AK, CA, HI, KY, ND, OH, OR, and PA.

Training is paid and they offer a benefits package after 90 days of employment. They also supply all the equipment you need, including computer equipment and a headset, and offer travel discounts to employees.

A few things worth knowing based on recent reviews: commission can be clawed back if a customer cancels their booking after the sale, and some employees note that overnight and weekend work may be required depending on your shift. Like most travel sales roles, it is high-volume phone work, so go in knowing that.

Why Cruise Booking Jobs Continue to Attract Remote Workers?
Remote cruise booking roles offer a combination of flexibility, travel industry exposure, performance-based earning opportunities, and the satisfaction of helping others create memorable experiences.

For individuals who enjoy speaking with people, solving problems, and discussing travel destinations, these jobs can be far more engaging than many traditional work-from-home positions.

While experience in travel or sales can be beneficial, determination, communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers often play an equally important role.

As remote work continues to expand, cruise and travel companies remain among the employers offering unique opportunities for people who dream of building a career from home while staying connected to the excitement of global travel.

Which of these cruise companies would you most enjoy working for—and which destination would be at the top of your dream cruise list? Share your thoughts below.

Humanity First: A Moving Reflection on Loss, Compassion, & Peace

News recently emerged that three Indian sailors lost their lives during an attack on the oil tanker MT Settebello in the Gulf of Oman.

Among them were Deck Cadet Aditya Sharma, Engine Fitter Shivanand Chaurasia, and Chief Engineer Patnala Suresh.

Their deaths are a heartbreaking reminder of a truth that humanity often forgets:
Behind every headline is a family waiting for a loved one to come home.

A father who will never hear his son's voice again.

A mother whose heart will forever carry an empty space.

A family whose future changed in a single moment.

When tragedy strikes, political opinions suddenly become less important. What remains is human pain.

Across the world, countless parents have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child. Whether they live in India, Palestine, Israel, Bangladesh, or anywhere else, their tears look the same. Their grief feels the same. Their hearts break the same way.

Too often, we celebrate the suffering of people we see as "different." We become divided by politics, nationality, religion, or ideology. Yet history repeatedly teaches us that hatred never builds a better future.

The suffering we wish upon others eventually returns to humanity as a whole.

A peaceful world begins when we learn to see ourselves in the pain of others.

When a child dies, it is not only one family that loses something. Humanity loses something.
Perhaps the greatest lesson life offers is simple:
Be kind.

Think independently.

Show compassion even when it is difficult.

And never forget that every person you see is loved by someone.

Life is short.

Far shorter than we imagine.

So let us spend less time celebrating division and more time building understanding.

Let us replace hatred with empathy.

Let us choose humanity over hostility.

Today, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of Aditya Sharma, Shivanand Chaurasia, and Patnala Suresh.

May their loved ones find strength in this difficult time.

And may we all learn to recognize a timeless truth:
The pain of a grieving parent belongs to all of humanity.

When Dirty Water Ruled the World: The Forgotten History of Cholera, Typhoid & Tuberculosis

Imagine living in a world where a simple drink of water could kill you.

A world where childbirth was often a death sentence, where entire cities were devastated by cholera, typhoid, tuberculosis, and dysentery, and where parents routinely buried children before they reached their first birthday.

This was not the Dark Ages.

It was the 19th century.

Today, many people take clean water, sanitation, and basic hygiene for granted. Yet less than two centuries ago, infectious diseases were among humanity's greatest enemies, claiming millions of lives across every continent.

Before Germ Theory: When Doctors Believed Disease Came From Bad Air

Around 1860, Louis Pasteur first published the 'germ theory'. That is, various pathogenic germs or microorganisms cause infectious diseases in the human body. Before this doctors believed in miasma theory.

Many diseases (e.g. cholera, plague, typhoid) are caused by bad smells or polluted air (miasma). So they are around the house, hospital or bedside to reduce the spread of disease ask for fresh air.

Doctors still didn't know about germs (viruses, bacteria). They noticed that good, clean, pure air in the house reduced the incidence of disease. Even in the 20th century, doctors told patients to get a change of air for their health.

If you read literature, you will know that Rabindranath, Saratchandra and other novelists used to write for patients or sick characters traveling or traveling in rivers, haors or hilly areas.

In England, the mid-1800s identified filth as a cause of disease and improved sanitation systems.

The Age of Epidemics:

In the 1800s, infectious diseases were a terror. Overcrowded cities, war and extreme poverty led to epidemics of disease and millions of deaths. The worst affected were the poorer classes, but no class was spared. Unhealthy environment, malnutrition & Dirty living was the main reason.

Although Greece and Rome had rules of hygiene and waste management in ancient times, they disappeared in the Middle Ages. In England, after the Enclosure Acts and the Industrial Revolution, poor people flocked to cities and lived in filth, drinking contaminated water and eating rotten food. Which plays a major role in the spread of disease.

Dr. in 1888. French writes - Extreme poverty, dirty environment and overcrowding create epidemics in cities, & Cleanliness, clean water and healthy living can prevent it. He said that the death rate of children increased mainly due to measles, smallpox, diphtheria, scarlet fever and whooping cough.

Typhoid Fever: The Disease of Poor Sanitation

Typhoid fever is spread through contaminated food or water, caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi. Symptoms include fever, abdominal pain and diarrhea. This disease was called the “Disease of Defective Civilization” because its main cause was unhealthy environment lack of drainage system.

Between the late 1800s and early 1900s, 40,000-50,000 people died of typhoid each year in the United States. From 1907 to 1911, there were 283,000 cases of cholera in Russia, while about 12.5 million people were infected with typhoid in the United States during the same period.

For every cholera case in Russia, there are four typhoid cases. In 1910-11, 16,000 people contracted cholera in Italy, while in the United States half a million people died of typhoid.

Typhoid was the leading cause of death for US troops in the Spanish-American War; This disease accounted for 86.8 percent of the total wartime deaths.

It was also widespread during the Civil War, where the mortality rate was about 37 percent. But worst of all was the diarrhea and dysentery that soldiers called the "Tennessee Quickstep" that crippled most of the troops on both sides. Poet Walt Whitman wrote,"This battle was about 99 percent diarrhea and 1 percent glory."

In 1879, over 500 people contracted a typhoid-like disease in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, after eating poor-quality veal and pork; According to many it was “sausage poisoning”.

Patients suffered from severe fever, diarrhoea, unconsciousness and pneumonia. Further investigation revealed that it might not be true typhoid, but a type of food poisoning caused by contaminated meat.

Cholera: The Terror of Contaminated Water

Cholera was a disease of unsanitary conditions and overcrowding. A bacterial gut infection, which causes severe diarrhea, vomiting, muscle spasms and death from dehydration. From children to adults, people of all ages were affected by the epidemic.

Cholera patients were killed or left to die in many places during the 1800s, especially during epidemics due to fear, superstition and social panic. The concept of germ theory was not yet established;People thought cholera was a "miasma" or punishment from God.

During the Paris cholera epidemic of 1832, Heinrich Heine (1797–1856) recounted, “The people rushed upon them like animals, like madmen… Nothing could be more horrible than the sight of a bloodthirsty mob suffocating helpless victims….

Two people were killed on the road… I saw, one of them was still breathing. And some old women took off her wooden shoes and beat him on the head with them till he died.

He was completely naked and bloody; They not only tore off his clothes, but also tore off his hair, genitals and nose. Then a miscreant tied a rope to the legs of the dead body and dragged it through the street, shouting repeatedly, “Here comes the cholera-patient!”

Trade and as travel increased, unsanitary conditions led to six major cholera epidemics by 1800. The first started in 1816 and ended in 1926. Between 1817 and 1860, about 1.5 million people died in India alone.

In 1849, a second outbreak occurred in Paris and London—14,137 deaths in London, double the number in 1832. In Ireland it caused a famine-like death toll, and in the United States6,000-12,000 people died during the California Gold Rush.

The Third Pandemic in Russia resulted in over a million deaths. Between 1832 and 1860, about 1.5 million people died in the United States, and in 1854, 5.5% of the population died in one year in Chicago. Between 1883-87, 2.5 million died in Europe, 2.6 million in Russia, 1.2 million in Spain, 90,000 in Japan, 60,000 in Persia and 58,000 in Egypt. Only in Russia at the beginning of the 20th centuryMore than half a million people died.

Of the 1.2 million deaths in France in 1832, 7,000 died in Paris in just 18 days. In 1849, cholera spread rapidly in the United States, causing people to flee their homes in panic throughout the city; Smoke is created by burning wood in hopes of purifying the air.

The number of patients was so great that only doctors, coffin makers and undertakers could be seen on the streets. Drinking water mixed with human and animal feces,Epidemics continued until the 19th and early 20th centuries due to lack of sanitation and lack of sanitation.

In Chicago, sewage from slaughterhouses, glue factories, and sewers contaminated Lake Michigan, a major cause of the cholera epidemic of 1848.

Dysentery: The Invisible Battlefield Killer

Dysentery is an intestinal infection caused by bacteria or amoeba. It causes severe diarrhea with blood and mucus in the stool. Like choleraIt is spread through faecally contaminated food and water, especially in poor and unhygienic areas.

Many people died of these diseases. The American Civil War (1861-65) saw double the number of battle field casualties, 186,000 soldiers, nearly half of which were typhoid and dysentery. Conditions in the concentration camps were dire; The dead were given mass burials without coffins.

"Hospitals" meant tattered, sideless tents, where hundreds of patients lay on the ground there, food was scarce, and death from scurvy, diarrhoea, dysentery and gangrene was a daily occurrence.

Typhus fever: Typhus fever is different from typhoid; It is caused by Rickettsia bacteria and is spread through the bite of lice. It is known as the “disease of uncleanliness” because overcrowding, lack of air and unhealthy living are the main causes. 10,000 people were infected in Serbia in 1914 during World War I, dying in six months. The number rises to 1.5 lakh.

During the Russian Revolution and Civil War of 1917–21, 2.5 million people were infected in Russia, and nearly 3 million died. In Poland in 1919, Red Cross Chairman Henry Davison said there were 2.3 million typhus patients, and according to the US Medical Unit, 95 percent were infected, with a mortality rate of 15-60 percent.

According to David Henderson, director general of the Red Cross Society in Geneva, typhus in Eastern EuropeThe plague was the worst since the Middle Ages; In Poland alone, 1.2 million cases were detected in July, but shortages of cleaners, fuel, clothing and doctors made control of the disease nearly impossible.

Diphtheria: Diphtheria is an infectious respiratory disease caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae bacteria, but the actual causative agent is a type of virus (bacteriophage), whichInfecting bacteria produce toxic toxins. This toxin forms a thick skin-like coating in the throat, making it difficult to breathe and swallow.

In severe cases, it can spread through the blood stream and cause paralysis and heart attack. In the poor and mal nourished environment, many people died from this disease. In New York in the 1910s, an average of 60 diphtheria cases and hundreds of deaths were reported daily.

Health Commissioner Royal S. CopelandIt is referred to as "health crime". In Germany between 1882-1891 1,11,021 died out of a population of 10 million in large cities; Another 12,361 died in 1892.

Whooping cough: Pertussis or whooping cough is a bacterial disease that causes severe and uncontrollable coughing, especially fatal for mal nourished children. It starts with a common cold and gradually develops into a “whoop” sounding cough. 19th century the disease became epidemic in Philadelphia at the end of the century; Irrespective of rich and poor, thousands of children are affected.

Ignoring the symptoms can lead to pneumonia, bronchitis and later tuberculosis. Dr. Royal S. According to Haynes, the leading infectious cause of death in children under one year was whooping cough; It caused almost the same death toll as typhoid.

In 1910 New York had 461 from whooping cough, 1,715 from diphtheria, measles andAbout 1,700 died from scarlet fever, while only 558 died from typhoid.

Scarlet fever: Scarlet fever is a toxin-producing bacterial disease caused by Streptococcus pyogenes or group-A strep bacteria. A red rash appears on the skin, especially on the chest and abdomen, which then spreads to the rest of the body.

These symptoms are caused by the production of a special virus toxin that infects the bacteria.Heart disease and kidney disease are often complications, which are the result of the body's autoimmune response. Before the discovery of antibiotics, the death rate of the disease decreased, although it has not yet been completely eradicated.

Scarlet fever and diphtheria killed 2,62,429 people in England and Wales in 1847–1861, including 38,890 in London. That is, one out of every 23 deaths in London would die of this disease. In 1884, Long Island, New York scarlet fever closes schools in Smithville, three die.

Measles: Measles is a viral infection, the primary symptoms of which are runny nose, cough, fever and pain; Later, small red spots appear on the skin with white dots in the middle. In 1906, 1,463 people died from measles in the United States, of which 1,240 were children under five years of age.

In December alone, 2,807 cases of child deaths were reported two and a half times more than scarlet fever. Thousands of natives died of measles and other diseases following European influence on Herschel Island in the Canadian Arctic; As the native population became accustomed to civilization's modern clothing, drinking, and unsanitary lifestyles, their immune systems weakened, causing pneumonia and other infections to spread.

Yellow fever or yellow fever: Yellow fever is a viral disease, which spread by the bite of an infected mosquito. In 1855 it destroyed the towns of Norfolk, Portsmouth and Gosport in Virginia, killing thousands and leaving the towns almost deserted.

The streets were silent, the shops closed, carriages full of coffins rolled around; 50 to 80 people died every day. Rich and poor, black and white, everyone is equally affected by this epidemic. According to the New York Times report, the coffins were densely swarmed with mosquitoes, and the dead the skin was yellow or bronze in color.

In 1873, yellow fever, smallpox, and cholera spread simultaneously in Memphis, causing panic, and people fled their homes.

Tuberculosis: The White Plague

Tuberculosis or “tuberculosis” was one of the deadliest diseases of the 1800s. It infects the lungs and destroys the body. Overcrowding and living in unsanitary tenements were the main reasons for the spread of disease. Breathing dirty air weakens the body,Nerves and appetite were destroyed, resulting in reduced immunity. Pneumonia and tuberculosis were the major killers of the era.

The two diseases together account for about one-fifth of all deaths. About 700,000 working people in the United States were then infected with TB, and more than 1,30,000 died each year.

Infectious diseases often struck together or in succession, such as measles and diphtheria when they spread together and increased infant mortality. Many measles deaths in New York after 1858 were actually complicated by diphtheria infections.

At the Urana Schwab Home in Huguenot, a combination of measles, scarlet fever and pneumonia infected 150 of 300 children and 20 died. “These children arrive weak and mal nourished, making it difficult to save them in the event of an epidemic,” says Sister Teresa.

A doctor's record shows that a seven-year-old boy is suffering from diphtheria and measles at the same timedied of high fever and debility despite receiving antitoxin, showing that the two diseases combined were almost always fatal.

The Tragedy of Childbed Puerperal Fever: Puerperal fever or “child bed fever” was a serious but preventable infection that caused maternal death after child birth. Puerperal fever is mainly caused by infection, which is mainly due to dirty hands of doctors and unsterile medical supplies.Spread through machinery.

In Europe, America and other countries, when male doctors and students began to manage deliveries instead of experienced midwives, the disease took a serious form.

In the 18th century, the profession of man-midwife or “man-midwife” became popular, but lack of experience and excessive intervention caused many deaths. Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes (United States) and Dr. Ignaz Semmelweiss (Austria) was the first to prove that hand washing due to this, maternal mortality is occurring.

They instructed doctors to wash their hands with chlorinated solution. In Semmelweis's hospital when it was implemented the mortality rate dropped from 32% to zero; Dr. Prague. Breisky also did not lose a single one of 1,100 deliveries using the same method.

Yet contemporary doctors reject this doctrine as insulting. Semmelweis was mentally tortured and sent to an ashram, where he was beaten by the guards,he died of gangrene in his hands.

Childhood Diseases That Once Terrified Families:

Countless women died in child birth in Europe from the 18th to 19th centuries. A record from 1764 shows that fifty percent of women admitted to Paris hospitals in child birth died of puerperal fever.

At that time billions of children lost their mothers due to puerperal fever and most of the children died due to malnutrition, neglect and disease and the surviving children were laborers.would have grown as At the beginning of the twentieth century, as late as 1900, one in 10 children died before reaching their first birthday.

During the 1870s–1940s in Britain, many deaths were caused by the unnecessary use of chloroform and forceps during simple childbirth, which one observer commented was “close to murder”. Puerperal fever shows how great a disaster the ignorance and arrogance of the doctors brought about. Where only hand wash and machine clean millions of lives could have been saved if it had been kept.

Mortality from infectious diseases has decreased because of improvements in quality of life, nutritious food, better maternity care, and improved hygiene, not because of vaccines. Even today, this reduction in mortality is attributed solely to vaccination, although evidence suggests that cleanliness and proper treatment were the main factors in prolonging human life.

The history of disease from 1800 to 1900 is like the dark ages of Bengali literature we are not informed that way. The main causes of epidemics of infectious diseases were malnutrition, inadequate sanitation and lack of knowledge about hygiene.

Even in British-ruled Bengal, most people died of infectious diseases. The first cholera epidemic of 1817 killed over a million people. The cholera epidemic of 1852 killed about 10-20 million people.

Plague of 1896 in Calcutta and other cities more than 100,000 people died, the Spanish flu of 1918 killed around 10-12 lakh people in Bengal. Besides, many people died from diseases like dysentery and typhoid. Due to modern science, we now understand that there were three reasons behind these deaths:

- Weak immune system due to malnutrition

- Weak or zero sanitation system

- Ignorance of hygiene

Why Public Health Changed the World?

The 19th century was a terrible era for human civilization, where disease,Poverty and ignorance combined to cast a shadow of death on every level of human life. Doctors then believed disease came from “miasma” or polluted air, unaware of the existence of germs.

Louis Pasteur's 'germ theory' was the first to show that invisible germs, bacteria and viruses were the main cause of infectious diseases. This discovery only revolutionized the history of medicine.

Unhealthy cities, densely populated areas,Malnutrition and polluted water were the main causes of typhoid, cholera, dysentery, diphtheria, scarlet fever, measles and tuberculosis. In wars, prisons and slums these diseases become epidemics; Millions of people die.

The terrible puerperal fever proved how deadly the ignorance and arrogance of doctors can be—where they claimed the lives of thousands of mothers by neglecting simple hygiene practices like hand washing. Similarly, dirty environment & Neglect of public health leads millions of children to premature death.

Lessons for the Modern World:

The horrific experiences of this period later gave rise to the public health movement around the world. Cleanliness, clean water, sanitation, nutritious food and proper maternity care dramatically reduce mortality. But it wasn't because of the vaccine.

This happened a long time ago when there were no modern vaccines. History says so, the increase in human life expectancy and disease freeness is real the foundation is based on science, education, cleanliness and social responsibility, not vaccination.

This history of the past teaches us that, no matter how advanced medical science is, if indifference to the environment and hygiene returns, civilization may return to the old cycle of death.

Get Paid Even Before You Make a Sale: 8 Remote Sales Jobs With Hourly Pay and Commission

In a world where remote work continues to grow, many people are searching for work-from-home opportunities that offer reliable income without the uncertainty of pure commission-based sales.

The biggest concern most job seekers have about sales roles is simple: What happens if you don't make enough sales?

Fortunately, not every remote sales position works that way.

Today, many reputable companies offer remote sales jobs that combine a guaranteed hourly wage or base salary with commission incentives.

This gives workers the security of a predictable paycheck while still creating opportunities to significantly increase their earnings.

For motivated individuals who enjoy helping customers, solving problems,& communicating with people, these positions can become a rewarding path to financial growth without leaving home.

Why Remote Sales Jobs Are Becoming More Popular?

Remote sales careers often provide higher earning potential than traditional customer service jobs.

While customer support roles typically pay a fixed wage, sales positions reward performance and can dramatically increase your income over time.

These jobs may be a strong fit if you:

✔ Enjoy talking with people

✔ Are comfortable working over the phone

✔ Can handle occasional rejection

✔ Like performance-based rewards

✔ Want income growth opportunities

✔ Prefer working from home

✓ Sales income can vary a lot from month to month depending on your performance.

✓ Note that all listings in this post are for US residents only.

However, it's important to understand that sales isn't for everyone. Some positions involve strict quotas, heavy call volumes, and performance targets that can feel demanding.

Before applying, consider whether you thrive in goal-driven environments.

Sales Jobs From Home Offering Base Plus Commission

Yelp – Inside Sales Representatives

Yelp regularly hires remote Inside Sales Representatives in different US regions depending on current openings.

In this employee role, you would sell Yelp advertising programs by making outbound sales calls to businesses. Definitely a cold-calling job, so it's probably best for people who are comfortable hearing “no” often and working toward strict sales quotas.

Note that commission does not kick in until you have generated a certain amount of revenue for the company, so earnings can vary quite a bit early on.

Job Type: Employee

Schedule: Full-time

Cold Calling? Yes

Location: US only

Pay: Yelp says average first-year earnings are around $53K yearly with base pay plus uncapped commission

Pay Frequency: Typically biweekly

Equipment Provided? Usually yes for remote employees

Applicants need a GED or high school diploma plus two years of customer-facing experience, or a bachelor's degree.

Based on employee reviews, this role can feel stressful and emotionally draining for some workers because of the high call volume, rejection, and sales pressure. Reviewers also mention high turnover and a management style that can lean toward micromanagement.

It could be a good fit if you already have call center or sales experience and you don't get discouraged easily.

Angi – Inside Sales Representatives

Angi hires remote inside sales representatives in select US states. Check the company listing for current availability before applying so that you don't spend time reading about a role you can't apply for.

In this role, you'll contact businesses to discuss Angi's advertising services and products. The company says reps may make up to 200 outbound calls daily, so another high-volume cold-calling position.

Job Type: Employee

Schedule: Full-time

Cold Calling? Yes

Location: Select US states

Pay: Base salary plus uncapped commission

Equipment Provided? Usually yes for remote employees

Applicants need either a bachelor's degree or two or more years of sales or customer-facing experience.

Based on employee reviews, Inside Sales Representative ratings at Angi sit around 3.2 out of 5 stars on Glassdoor. Reviewers generally mention high turnover and demanding outbound call expectations, though some positives include uncapped commission potential and a remote-friendly culture.

Honestly, this may be a better fit for experienced salespeople who are already comfortable with aggressive phone sales environments. If cold calling is not your thing, this one could get exhausting quickly.

Carnival Cruise Line – Personal Vacation Planners

Carnival Cruise Line occasionally hires remote Personal Vacation Planners to help customers book cruises and vacation packages.

Unlike some other jobs on this list, many callers are already interested in booking travel, so the leads may feel warmer and less stressful than pure cold-calling jobs.

Job Type: Employee

Schedule: Full-time

Cold Calling? Mostly no

Location: US only

Pay: Hourly pay plus commission incentives

Estimated Earnings: Carnival says many Personal Vacation Planners earn around $65K to $70K yearly

Pay Frequency: Typically biweekly

The company also offers paid training and benefits for eligible employees.

This role may appeal more to people who enjoy customer interaction and travel rather than aggressive outbound sales — and it sounds a little more fun than some of the other options on this list!

Liberty Mutual – Inbound Sales Representatives

Liberty Mutual is one of the most reader-friendly additions on this entire list, and honestly it might be the best starting point if you're newer to sales. Why? Because there is no cold calling at all.

Every lead that comes to you is inbound, meaning these are people who have already expressed interest in insurance products. You are not dialing strangers.

In this fully remote role, you would sell personal insurance products like auto and home coverage to customers who contact Liberty Mutual directly.

The company provides all computer equipment, covers your Property and Casualty licensing if you don't already have it, and offers paid training that runs 16 to 18 weeks depending on your license status. Benefits start on day one.

Job Type: Employee

Schedule: Full-time; four weekdays plus one weekend day required

Cold Calling? No — all inbound warm leads

Location: Select US states (varies by hiring cycle; recently includes AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and WV among others)

Pay: Starting base salary of $45K with average total earnings of $55K to $75K through base plus commission; top performers in year two and beyond can earn $85K or more

Pay Frequency: Typically biweekly

Equipment Provided? Yes

Note that you will need a wired high-speed internet connection — Liberty Mutual does not support satellite or mobile internet for this role. Prior sales experience of two to three years is preferred but not required.

Which makes this one of the more accessible entries on this list for people who are motivated but don't have a heavy sales background.

AAA Auto Club Group – Insurance Sales and Service

AAA Auto Club Group sometimes hires remote insurance sales and customer service workers in certain US states.

Depending on the role, you may help customers with insurance quotes, renewals, policy questions, or new sales.

Many callers are already AAA members, so this can feel less aggressive than outbound cold-calling roles.

Job Type: Employee

Schedule: Full-time

Cold Calling? Usually no

Location: Select US states

Pay: Hourly pay, bonuses, and possible commission opportunities

Pay Frequency: Typically biweekly

Equipment Provided? Often yes for remote workers

Some jobs require an active property and casualty insurance license, although licensing assistance may occasionally be available.

A good option to consider if you prefer customer service-focused sales rather than constant cold outreach. You may also like this one if you want something that should feel more stable and less intense overall.

HubSpot – Sales Development Representatives

HubSpot, the well-known CRM and marketing software company, periodically hires remote Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) in the US.

In this role, you would reach out to potential customers to introduce HubSpot's software products, qualify leads, and pass them along to account executives to close.

Most outreach is a mix of phone calls and email rather than pure cold calling, and you are working with inbound leads as well as outbound prospecting.

HubSpot is generally regarded as a strong employer, which can make a difference if you want a sales role at a company with a good reputation and clear paths for advancement.

Job Type: Employee

Schedule: Full-time

Cold Calling? Mix of inbound and outbound

Location: US remote (availability varies by hiring cycle)

Pay: Base salary plus commission; SDR base pay typically starts around $55K with total on-target earnings higher depending on performance

Pay Frequency: Typically biweekly

Equipment Provided? Yes

Prior sales or business development experience is generally preferred. HubSpot's hiring cycles vary, so note that US remote SDR roles may not always be posted.

Check their careers page regularly and consider setting up a job alert so that you don't miss an opening.

HubSpot scores well on Glassdoor overall, and the SDR role is frequently mentioned as a strong entry point for people looking to build a career in tech sales. Benefits, culture, and growth opportunities are commonly cited as positives.

NexRep – Inbound Sales Agents

NexRep is a virtual call center platform that connects independent contractors with client companies needing phone-based sales and customer service support.

The sales opportunities here involve taking inbound calls for well-known brands where callers are already interested in purchasing. That means you're not chasing cold leads, you're helping people who already want to buy.

Because these are contractor roles, the structure is different from the employee jobs above. You set your own schedule, work the hours you choose, and are paid per performance rather than a straight hourly rate.

Job Type: Independent contractor

Schedule: Flexible — you choose your own hours

Cold Calling? No — inbound calls only

Location: US only (most states)

Pay: Commission-based; inbound sales agents typically earn $15 to $25 per hour depending on performance and the client project

Pay Frequency: Twice monthly

Equipment Provided? No — you supply your own computer and headset

Because this is contractor work, there are no employee benefits, and income can be unpredictable depending on call volume and your close rate.

That said, if you want flexible hours and a low-pressure entry point into remote sales without the quota stress of a traditional employee role, NexRep is worth a look. Just go in knowing it works best as supplemental income rather than a primary one.

Working Solutions – Sales and Customer Service

Working Solutions sometimes offers remote sales and customer service contracts for companies in travel, retail, and financial services.

Some projects involve upselling products or services while helping inbound callers.

Job Type: Independent contractor

Schedule: Flexible

Cold Calling? Usually no

Location: Primarily US and Canada

Pay: Per minute, per talk time, or base plus incentives depending on the project

Pay Frequency: Twice monthly

Equipment Provided? No

Because this is contractor work, you'll handle your own taxes and won't receive employee benefits. Note that contractor work can sometimes mean less predictable income and fewer protections compared to employee roles.

A decent option for people who want flexible scheduling without heavy cold calling. Just so you know what you're signing up for, the income here can definitely be more variable than a salaried position.

The Bottom Line:

Remote sales jobs often get overlooked because many people associate them with unpredictable commission-only income.

The reality is that numerous companies now offer a combination of guaranteed pay and commission incentives, creating a much more balanced earning opportunity.

Whether you're an experienced salesperson, a customer service professional looking to advance, or someone exploring a new remote career path, these positions can provide both stability and significant income potential.

The key is finding a role that matches your personality, communication style, and tolerance for performance-based goals.

For the right person, a remote sales career can become far more than just a job—it can be a pathway to financial freedom, flexible living, and long-term professional growth from the comfort of home. :::
