A man came home late one night and found an unusual stillness in his home. His children, usually full of energy, were fast asleep. He asked his wife, "Have they prayed?"
With sadness, his wife replied, "There was no food at home. They cried themselves to sleep out of hunger and didn't pray."
The man, firm in his faith, insisted, "Wake them up. Let them pray."
His wife hesitated. "If I wake them, they will cry again from hunger. There is no food."
Unwavering, the man responded, "Wake them up. Obey my words. The responsibility for their sustenance is not ours but Allah Ta'ala’s."
Quoting the Quran, he recited:
"Enjoin your family members to pray and be steadfast in it. I do not ask you for sustenance; I give you sustenance. The good results are only for the God-fearing."
(Surah Taha: 132)
Trusting her husband's faith, the wife woke the children. Together, the family stood in prayer, their hearts reaching out to Allah in their time of need.
As their prayers concluded, a knock at the door broke the night’s silence. The man opened the door to find a stranger carrying a large bundle of food.
The man at the door said, "This is for your family. Please accept it."
He explained, "A leader from the city visited my home, and I served this food to him. But before eating, we had an argument. He left angrily without touching the meal. I didn’t want the food to go to waste, so I decided to walk and let Allah guide me to someone in need. I swear by Allah, I found myself at your door without knowing why."
This miraculous event brought tears to the family's eyes. Their faith in Allah's infinite blessings had been rewarded.
