Dawood (as). While in power used to travel among the subjects in disguise. He asked the people, "What kind of man is your King David?" Everyone praised him.
One day a problem happened. The angel came in human form and said to him, "Dawood is a very good man—but he has one problem, he is dependent on the state treasury (Baytul Maal) for the sustenance of himself and his family."
After hearing this, Dawood (a.s.) is such a path to Allah Wanted, that he could continue on his own earnings without taking money from the treasury.
Allah accepted the dua of His Prophet. Gave him special engineering knowledge. He brought revolutionary changes in armor or war dress.
The designs and materials he started using in making armor were novel and surprising to the people of that era.
Dawood (a.s.) was the first to make a thin iron wire and to make a chain or ring with it.His creation became known in history as Chainmail.
These armors were light in weight and flexible—like thin wire iron flexible clothing. It folded with the body, making it easier to move quickly on the battle field and wield the sword.
Before this invention of Dawood (AS) war clothes were made of thick sheets of iron, which were very heavy and difficult to wear to fight or move. There would be no folding.
too much Being heavy and rigid, these garments sapped the strength of the warriors. Dawood (as) New designs and innovative weaves brought revolutionary changes in that armor.
This knowledge of engineering was given by Allah to His Prophet. Surah Saba verses 10-11 have detailed reference. There will be no time to elaborate I am ending the post briefly by asking you to read it carefully.
Usually the iron is hammered to make it soft by burning it Different shapes are given. In this case Dawood (as). He was an exception.
He could shape iron with his bare hands without heat. Allah softened iron for him (وَأَلَنَّا لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ).
God also taught how to make armor. The Quran uses the word "سَابِغَات" (sabighat), which means full and loose armor that covers the whole body. Immediately after these words said, "وقدر فيالسرد”—meaning knit the strings to the right size.
Thousands of small iron rings or rings were interlaced with each other to form a web-like fabric. This is the chainmail type of armor in history.
Did you know that about 3000 years ago, Prophet Dawood (A.S.) made an armor with small iron rings that still amazes scientists today?
Writing is getting bigger. Let's skip to the main point.
Of this post the key point is to be fully focused on building a successful 'startup' or job creation by enhancing personal soft and hard skills and not treating personal qualification as an after thought.
It will never be possible to make a respectable living if you go after others without qualifying yourself.
Allah's Messenger ﷺ said:
"There is no better food for anyone than the food earned by one's own hands. Allah's Prophet Dawood (A.S.)himself,He used to eat what he earned (through hard work).” Bukhari: 1966
It is possible to give a long prayer keeping the above hadith in front. Allah's Messenger ﷺ indicated many things through this hadith.
Two of the most prominent of these are self-employment and making a living through self-effort, no matter how big the responsibility.
Father's bravery, brother's zamindari has no respect. Separate glory in the money received for their welfare isn't the ultimate honor and excellence lies in what can be earned with one's own hands.
Islam never approves of indulging in the charity of others while keeping oneself inactive. Islam does not call such good livelihood.
There is no example in the history of Islam that you can make waj-mahfil-seminar a way of earning if you are a big master, a celebrity shaykh, a well-known da'i. Allah's Messenger ﷺ followed the example of Hazrat Dawud (As). That path is also have done closed.
Dawood (A.S.) was not only a prophet, he was a powerful king of a vast empire. Usually a ruler does not lack and does not need to provide labor.
But Dawood (a.s.) despite being the king did not take any money from the state treasury for his personal expenses.
He used to live on the money earned by his manual labor. This proves that no matter how great the social rank, in one's own hands It is an honor to work.
Dawood (as),He did not make armor only for his own use. The armor made by him was of the best quality in those days and was in great demand.
He used the money he got from selling them to run his family and spend the rest on public welfare or for the needy.
Even as a king, he was proud to identify himself as a "craftsman".
And we will be artisans, far ki baat, mosques, madrasas, after acquiring knowledge. If someone concentrates on halal employment without conducting waj-mahfil, seminars or writing, then we tag him with the tag "lack of good eye of the masters".
There are some exceptional people. May Allah honor them with more exceptions.
