It was a moment that stopped me in my tracks: seeing a 10-month-old baby happily munching on a packet of chips.
It hit me hard because I’d just had my own experience with chips. As a grown adult, I found one brand so overpowering that my tongue burned, my stomach felt heavy, and I couldn't taste my home-cooked food for hours afterward.
It made me wonder: If this is what it does to a fully developed adult body, what is it doing to our little ones?
We often give in to excuses—"It's just a small packet," or "What's the harm?"—thinking it's a harmless treat. But what if this small act of "love" is quietly setting the stage for a lifetime of challenges? A damaged sense of taste, a preference for junk over nourishing food, and even disruptions to their crucial early development.
What we call a "treat" can be the beginning of a damaged palate, digestive issues, and a preference for junk food.
Love shouldn't come in a toxic packet. Let's nourish their future, not poison it.
This isn't about judgment; it's about awareness. I'm sharing this in the hope that it might open one parent's eyes. Let's choose to show our love through nutrition that builds them up, not through "treats" that can secretly harm.
🔄 If this resonates, please share. Let's spread awareness, not judgment.
